Care

General Maintenance: Keep pruned to desired size. To keep at the dwarf size, let the plant become quite root-bound before repotting. Remove any shoots that grow from the base of the plant.

Temperature: Not terribly picky on temperature. Very high heat can cause the leaves to revert to green.

Light: Prefers a bright filtered or dappled light rather than full sun. It can tolerate some morning sun, but afternoon sun will often scorch the leaves.

Watering: Water when the soil feels dry to the touch.

Soil: Soil should be well-draining and loamy or sandy. Prefers soil to be on the acidic side.

Fertilizer: Doesn’t require much in the way of fertilizing. You can use a low nitrogen fertilizer in the spring.
